5 Good Things This Month! 4.26.18
April is my favorite month by far. The weather is finally starting to get warmer and...it’s MY BIRTHDAY MONTH! WOO HOO! Since I’ve totally failed at doing this post weekly the past few weeks, this will be more of a ‘5 good things this month’ post ;) 1. Christopher’s 36th birthday was on April 20th! My boyfriend, my pumpkin nugget, my tater tot, my sugar, my dance partner, my ride or die, my partner in crime, my guitar playing, Polish-Russian crazy pants love. He’s the love of my life and I’m so glad to have spent another birthday with him. On my lunch break on his birthday I picked us up some sashimi and sushi rolls and brought them to him at work - it was fabulous of course. Afterwards we went to dinner at a Mediteranean restaurant with his parents and brother and then had a relaxing evening.
2. Thankfully, April 21st (the day between mine & Christopher’s birthday) fell on a Saturday this year which made the perfect date for our joint birthday celebration! We started out hiking at Natural Bridge in Slade, KY with my parents and a couple friends, ate dinner at Miguel’s Pizza afterwards, went home and napped hard, and finished the evening at our favorite local bar, Banners. If you’ve never eaten at Miguel’s, then did you really even hike at Natural Bridge? The answer is no. Your hike never happened unless you stopped by Miguel’s and created your own pizza afterwards! Haha! At Banners, we were so blessed to have a handful of our friends and family show up to celebrate with us. Just like he does every year, our friend Alex showed up and made balloon hats for everyone. It was too funny!
3. My 27th birthday was on April 22nd! We had a pretty relaxing Sunday at our home watching Netflix and recovering from our joint birthday party the night before. The day was capped off with a delicious dinner at my parents house with chicken, veggies, quinoa, mashed potatoes, and CAKE! Ohhhh how I am obsessed with Nothing Bundt Cakes, the most moist cakes I’ve ever had! Christopher and I had recently been talking about funfetti cake so we chose the confetti flavor and everyone enjoyed it. Now I just need to go get my FREE birthday bundlet before the coupon expires!
4. We bought new bedroom furniture and a new couch and it’s about damn time! During our move when we bought our home a year and a half ago, we lost the parts to put our bedframe together. My sweet dad bought us some new ones, but we were still missing a couple important pieces. There have been so many changes that we’ve made in the rest of our home and the bedroom has been put off...so, I CANNOT wait to get it all set up. The couch doesn’t come until this weekend, but we picked up the bedroom set last week from Lexington Overstock. It’s currently sitting in the garage until we find a time where we’re both not busy and can set it up. Pictures will come once it’s all put together!

5. The past few months I’ve been working out anywhere from 4-6 days a week to try and get more fit. I really enjoy weightlifting and challenging myself to lift more and more...aaaand I really don’t mind the stares of people who seem shocked when my 5’2” frame curls 20lb dumbbells. It’s kind’ve like a ‘look what I can do’ feeling...and now I’m sad thinking about the fact that many kids these days will never know what Stuart can do ? (see the video below if you don’t know). Anyways, aside from hiking for our birthday, my gym goings have been limited the past couple weeks because I’ve had sooo much going on...and I’ve been eating lots of cake. BUT I’m super happy because I weighed myself this morning and managed to only gain 0.4lbs! Now I don’t feel like I’ve completely failed myself! LOL! Just goes to show that the more muscle you gain, the more calories your body will burn when it’s resting...or eating cake...
