5 Good Things This Week! 4.6.18
Recently, I came across another bloggers website and I started reading through some of her posts. One thing that I absolutely loved was that once a week she creates a blog post listing some of the good things that happened to her that week. She doesn’t do this to brag about how great her life is or make anyone think that she’s better than them, but to remind herself of positivity. When writing her post each week, she’s forced to focus on the things that better her as a person and to push any negativity aside. I thought this was a really great idea because it’s something you can look back on. When life gets tough or something negatively affects you, having those blog posts to write and then read makes your world seem like it’s not so bad. If you’re in a funk, you’ll have those lists to remind you that you accomplished something or someone said/did something nice for you or whatever else you can think of that made you smile.
At the end of her post, she stated that everyone should try to do this because it helps create positivity. Not only does it create positivity for yourself but it also helps to create positivity in other peoples lives because they start to think about the good things happening to them, or maybe they’re even inspired to start their own lists like I’m doing now! So here are 5 good things that happened to me this week:
I was able to spend quality time with my boyfriend, Christopher, while getting in some exercise too. We joined an adult, co-ed kickball team with some friends and have games every Thursday. In our game this week, we crushed our opponents 9-1! (Ok, so that’s really multiple good things, but it all goes together.)
Christopher and I had an incredible Easter Sunday filled with great drinks, amazing food, and even better company. We started out with brunch at Carson’s Food & Drink in Lexington, KY with my parents (sadly, we were missing my little brother and his girlfriend). We had outstanding Bloody Mary’s, coffee with Irish cream, and food so heavenly and beautiful that you almost didn’t want to cut into it. After brunch, we had a delicious Polish dinner at Christopher’s parents house. His mom made homemade pierogies that I could literally eat all day, every day! She also made chicken meatballs - YUM! I’m lucky to have them in my life (his family, not the meatballs...but also the meatballs) - their dinners are often customized to include chicken or turkey since I don’t eat pork or beef and it’s pretty dang thoughtful of them.
I’ve been working my butt off to try and grow my social media followings so that I can in turn grow my blog following. My Instagram account hit 900+ followers and my Pinterest made it to 200,000+ monthly viewers!
There was a warm day this week and I was actually able to sit on our back deck while working on my social media and blog. I’m so not a cold weather person and I’m plenty sick of being stuck indoors. Bring on summer!
I’m training a new girl at work and thank the heavens she actually has common sense and initiative! I told Christopher at the end of Monday (her first day) that it was a breath of fresh air to get someone who learns so quickly. It’s also a good thing because Christopher and I are friends with her and her boyfriend and it would be super awkward if she sucked.
