Keto for Two: SIMPLE Chocolate Mousse
Knowing that I can consume chocolate mousse on a so-called diet is heaven. Sure, it's not a big fat Hershey bar, but I'm ok with that...it's chocolate and it's a healthy snack (for keto). Every week during this keto diet, Christopher and I have had "fat bombs" to snack on...although it's really me eating it all because he doesn't have a big sweet tooth. How someone doesn't like sweets, I'll never understand. But, it's probably a good thing because he helps keep me from eating my weight in chocolate on daily basis! Anyway, I had a hard time deciding if I even wanted to try something else because I am sooo addicted to the keto fat bombs I've been making. But, I did it. You can't have bad chocolate, right?!
This recipe includes multiple sources of fat - cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, and AVOCADO! Yum! For all you avo-haters, you honestly can't even taste the avocado once everything is mixed together - so PLEASE don't shoot the recipe down until you try it. Really. Once it's all done, it just tastes like a beautifully, perfectly, thick chocolate mousse. It'll trick your tastebuds but also satisfy them at the same time. Christopher almost wouldn't try it at first, but after I forced the spoon in his mouth, he came back for more! Haha!
When making this mousse, I didn't quite stick to the original recipe (linked at the bottom of this post). I still had half of a bag of dark chocolate chips left in my pantry and rather used those versus spending more money to buy cocoa powder and shaved chocolate. I'm sure the original recipe is mouth-watering, but I'm pretty dang proud of mine too! Check out my printable recipe below...
