The Best Thing for Plantar Fasciitis!

The Best Thing for Plantar Fasciitis!

Alright y'all, let's talk about plantar fasciitis. Ugh. I consider myself very lucky that I haven't experienced this, but it kills me to see Christopher in all the discomfort it causes him.  If you aren't fully aware of what plantar fasciitis is, it is when the tissue connecting your heel to your toes gets inflamed and causes stabbing pain.  Over the last six months or so, he's gotten plantar fasciitis multiple times and it just about cripples him.  He still goes to work, where he's on his feet all day, and doesn't let it stop him from helping to provide for us, but when he gets home he is DONE!  Laid out on the couch, feet up, and willing to try anything to make the pain go away. We've tried so many different ways to ease the excruciating feeling, but have yet to find anything that truly helps.  We do have a little spiky ball that he puts on the floor and rolls his foot over, but he has to sit up and keep doing it to feel any better.  While the ball helps slightly, it would be much more convenient to have something that just stays on and eases the pain, something that you don't have to focus on doing.

Since I've had such great luck with the compression socks and copper-infused ankle brace from Treat My Feet, I decided to try out two more of their products that may just help Christopher and his plantar fasciitis.  We got the Foot & Ankle Pain Relief Hot/Cold Gel Wrap and the Foot & Ankle Pain Relief Hot/Cold Boot Wrap.  For reference, Christopher wears a size 12 shoe and we ordered both wraps in a large.

First, he tried each one after heating them in the microwave.  We microwaved the black gel wrap for 30 seconds and the blue boot wrap for one minute.  Directions on properly heating and cooling the wraps do come on the box, so don't worry about remembering the time limits.  Because it's summer and over 90 degrees in Lexington, he didn't want to keep either wrap on too long when they were hot, so I moved both to the freezer for a couple hours.

Once the wraps were cold, Christopher tried each out again and loved them!  His favorite of the two is the blue boot wrap because he feels like it has more support, but he is excited to have and continuously use both products.  Each wrap has gel padding which makes wearing them extremely comfortable while he's laying down on the couch.

I'm so glad we've found these products that will subdue Christopher's plantar fasciitis.  Now he can relax at home while the cold wraps help numb his pain and lessen the inflammation.  We highly recommend the products from Treat My Feet and haven't been disappointed with any.  Drop a comment below and let me know what remedies you or someone you know use for plantar fasciitis!
